Forge was successful in winning this prestigious competition for the regeneration of Surrey Docks Farm, a fully working inner city farm situated on the Thames Path in Rotherhithe. The scheme aims to rejuvenate the area and to encourage new visitors to the farm. The design contains a series of different sized permeable ‘Barns’ containing diverse functions. These are set within a framework of external circulation decks, wide enough for activities to spill out onto. The underlying concept was to embellish the journey round the farm, blurring the edges between inside and outside, and on a practical level making the scheme fully energy efficient.
